DORAN / FORD GT MK VII
GT40 is one of the most recognizable, successful and best loved sports racing cars in motorsport history.
With the company's failed bid to buy Ferrari in 1963, Henry Ford II personally ordered a prototype to be
built to beat the Prancing Horse at Le Mans. The GT40 was the result and made it's debut in the 1964 race.
Two years later it scored the first of four consecutive victories ending Ferrari's winning reign at La Sarthe.
Today, the 21st Century Ford GT MK VII, a project initialized by Kevin Doran but subsequently overseen by
Robertson Racing, remains a crowd favourite the world over. Featuring classic styling cues not seen since
endurance racing's golden age six decades ago, the Ford GT is for many the epitome of sportscar racing.
